About Me

Hey there.

I'm Yen.
90's kid, born and raised in the Prince of Wales Island, the one and only awesome Penang, one of the top most livable cities in the world. Proud islander here!
Dad's from a Chinese school, and mum's from an English school.
But, pretty much raised in an English speaking family and studied in an english speaking school.
However, I did take up Mandarin as my university degree elective subject and I did pretty well, I guess.
My Asian dad got pretty proud of it. Hahah!
My paternal grandparents are from China, so... they pretty much spoke with the teochew dialect and a little bit of hokkien, since the main Chinese dialect spoken in Penang by the Chinese community here is hokkien. As for mandarin, I don't really recall them speaking any of it.

I'm kind of ambidextrous, meaning that I'm left-handed and also right-handed, at the same time.
Well, most of the time, I'd use my left hand to write and draw using a pen or pencil.
On the other hand, I'd normally use the right hand for sport-related activities and also to use a computer's mouse.
The pictures I drawn in this blog are mainly done by my right hand! Tadahh!

I love martial arts, comedy, stunts, dance, music, cars, BIG bikes, planes, flying, surfing, swimming, philosophical stuff, watches, fitness stuff and food!

I'm obsessed with fitness! (Yes, #teamlifttoparty.)
Works out almost every single day.
Crazy about martial arts.
Started karate at the age of 9, got my black belt (1st Dan) degree at the age of 13.
Planning to take up MMA in the future.

Food is da bomb ya'll!
I love all kinds of delicious food! Well, who doesn't?
I prefer liquor over wine, and beer is fine.
Coffee is cool and tea is fun!
Dark chocolates rock!
I love the bittersweet taste.
It gives the original and exclusive feel.

I love big surround sound, high-quality earth-shaking speakers with real hard and steady heart-vibrating bass!
It's fantastic and it is mind-blasting, trust me. It rocks the soul.

I'm a Xaverian, a Lasallian student.
I studied in Saint Xavier's, an all-boys-only school, originally a missionary school, set up by the christian brothers during the world war 2, and I studied there since primary up til' highschool.
Yeahh, the school is like 3 digits in age and was used to be a war hideout place and it has an underground tunnel connected to a sister school, opposite my school, which is a girls-only school.
Has a pretty sick history and yeah, lots of creepy and also cool stories about the school's legend as well.
My highschool's headmaster was a Lasallian brother who wore a white robe around the school when I was studying there. He retired soon after I graduated from the highschool though.
The brothers live in the school, and yeah, I mean living as in staying and sleeping in the school itself.
Cool huh!

I'm was from a science-stream division during high school.
After graduating highschool, I got my diploma in accounting.
Currently doing a bachelors (hons) degree in finance & economics.
Lovin' them numbers ey?
Must've got em' from my Asian roots!
Considering a MBA/CFA in the future.
I love maths, numbers and money!
Crunching and playing around with numbers are fun!
Solving puzzles gives me satisfaction!

So, hopefully this gives you a pretty rough picture about me!

Cheers!
